I’m sneaking a product review into my Vegan MoFo but it’s fine because these snack bars are completely vegan, wheat and gluten free 🙂 Plus the company Natural Balance Foods are a British company so they even fit in with my theme! I really love the ethos of this company, on the website for these snack bars they say “We’re a young British company devoted to increasing world happiness with yummy healthy snacks, humour and helpfulness. That means we make delicious, good-for-you munchies, do our best to help others, and try to spread a little joy along the way.”
I absolutely love Nakd Raw bars, it took me awhile to try them after first seeing them on the shelves (I’m a bit sceptical of brightly coloured packaged things claiming to be super healthy) but once I did I never went back to the ‘normal’ cereal bar! I even took them as my main snack to Download festival this year as a much needed goodness boost! I was kindly sent a box of their new product Nakd Crunch Bars in all different flavours for free to review 🙂 They are the same principle as the ordinary Raw bars, which are dried fruits and nuts packed together to create a delicious protein packed snack bar, but with crunchy Soya pieces in them (which I think may be the only non raw aspect). I really like the crunchy bits because it gives some extra texture to the soft fruit bar and reminds me a little bit of wafer.
The Crunch bars are available in banana, berry, apple and chocolate flavour! My favourite (as if you’d never guess) is the chocolate one! They use raw cocoa powder which creates a more bitter dark chocolate flavour compared to a chocolate bar. The ingredients list is really fantastic with no nasty words I can’t pronounce. It includes dates, cashews, raisins, cocoa, apple juice and the crunchies.
I’ve definitely got eyes bigger than my belly so one thing that delayed my inevitable love of these bars was that they are quite small. However they are dense and full of slow releasing energy which actually keeps you full for a good few hours! They have released larger sized portions of the non crunchy bars which I tried but found that actually this 30g size is really a perfect portion.
Have you tried any of the products from Natural Balance Foods? Do you have anything similar being sold in your country?
Back to recipes for the vegan mofo tomorrow!! I hope you enjoy them all 🙂
Love these. My favourite is the original Cocoa Orange. Have you tried the new Nak’d Bits? I can’t find them in the stores yet but am eager to test.
Have you tried 9bars? They are made by the same Manufacturers who do Nak’d bars, the bars are also veggie friendly. From the Nak’d collection I like the cocoa crunch the best.
My favourite is the strawberry crunch 🙂
That ones great too! 🙂
I know what you mean as I wouldn’t want to just review every old product sent my way so I choose the products I review really carefully based on what I think others may enjoy 🙂 this brand are well worth a spot on the blog hehe x
I usually get a bit twitchy whenever bloggers start promoting stuff but these bars look promotion worthy to say the least and you are promoting a U.K. firm that has a hard enough time fighting the big boys for a teeny little spot in the market, promote away I say! 🙂 Plus they look delish! 🙂
I’m a huge fan of the crunch bars! And I’m so glad we can order them in Belgium 😀
That’s great news! Glad you can enjoy them too 🙂
I love these, especially the banana one!
The banana ones are ace! 🙂
ha! loving your inventive product placement! Nak’d Crunch bars are good. The founder of Nak’d is a honey!
Thanks! My neighbours probably all thought I was mad 😉
