Even though I go on and on about not having a sweet tooth I have to say I am REALLY enjoying this month of puddings! I have been trying to balance it out with healthy meals during the day and by sharing as much as I can with friends and family but I still think I may need a detox in OCtober 🙂
Chocolate has always been a weak spot of mine anyway so I had been looking forward to trying a few chocolate recipes this week. One recipe I have always wanted to try is avocado chocolate mousse. I love avocados so I have always been intrigued as to how this would taste and what the texture would be like.
It’s certainly not a mousse texture with air bubbles etc but it is smooth, creamy, light and delicious!
Eating avocados more often can have many health benefits, including a healthier heart, better skin, helping you lose weight and treating or avoiding serious health problems such as diabetes and arthritis. So even though there is a bit of naughtiness in this pudding, you can also rest assured you are doing your body some good!
I topped it with figs for a bit of a contrast and decoration and served it in a glass, to look posh 🙂
1 Large Avocado
1 tbspn Cocoa Powder (add more to taste – mine was strong and didn’t need a huge amount)
1 tbspn Agave/ Maple Syrup
2 tbspn Almond Milk
1 tspn Vanilla Extract
Blend the ingredients together until smooth. Chill in the fridge for an hour or so to set, serve cold topped with fruit!
